  The service was arranged by funeral director which we were completely disappointed with, the cemetery however, was a lovely quiet place with flowers and lovely trees. Really peaceful and pretty. The only thing that I would complain about is that whilst the service was being read and mourners were still at the side of the grave, my daughters, the cemetery workers started filling the grave and not just with shovels, but one got a JCB and started to fill the earth onto the coffin whilst we were still there. I found that bordering on disrespectful and if I had the energy, would have stopped him but it was an awful day. I am pleased I chose the plot as, like I said, it was peaceful and pretty but please be mindful of people mourning before you start to fill the grave in that way, we all know it has to be done, but you should have waited for mourners, especially the parents, to leave first.

  We wish to thank the Marks gate cemetary for the use of the chapel for our mothers funeral service. The day was very cold and wet but the caretaker made sure that the chapel was clean and warm for us all as we arrive. All though there were toilets available they were a bit of a walk from the chapel which was a bit inconvenient on the day as was raining. The chapel held 60 people comfortably. The cemetary has paths also which made it a less hazardous task to get to the burial site in the rain. Thank you again Daphne Joy Pughs family.
